Panagiotis (Panos) Katsikopoulos
Panos is a Chemical Engineer Ph.D., and Senior Staff Officer at the General Secretariat for Civil Protection (GSCP)/Greece since 2000. Since then, he is continuously involved in the UCPM dealing with full scale exercises and being an UCPM expert responding to several missions. He is main author of the first Civil Protection Exercises Manual in Greece (National Printing House, 2009) and a Lecturer at Disaster Management M.Sc. Programs in Greek Universities.
In EU MODEX he is active as trainer and Quality Assurance Manager since 2015.
What does EU MODEX mean to me?
The EU MODEX is truly an exercise program not just a series of exercises. With the continuous efforts of all participants, it evolves together with the Union Civil Protection Mechanism, and supports the UCPM preparedness goal/mission for the benefit of affected people all over the world and of European solidarity.
What are my wishes for the future of EU MODEX?
That the Community of Exercise Practitioners continues to be even more open, inclusive, forward-looking and experimental to develop further the exercise methodology in order to continuously support the enhancement of UCPM preparedness.
