Patrícia Gaspar

Patrícia Gaspar graduated in International Relations in 1995 at the Technical University of Lisbon, Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences. Then she served in the Portuguese Navy between 1996 and 2000, with specific expertise in the area of Protocol and analysis of strategic information, and subsequently, in July 2000, she joined the former National Civil Protection Service (SNPC), the current National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), where she remained until 2019, when she was appointed State Secretary for Home Affairs.
During her professional path, different activities were carried in the fields of operational planning, operational decision support, the development of various emergency management support instruments, international civil protection cooperation and the design and organization numerous national and international exercises. Having also represented the country in various international fora, she is a certified expert under the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union and the United Nations, having participated in two international missions under these mechanisms and other bilateral missions.
Patrícia Gaspar is a national and international trainer in the field of civil protection, including at university level. She also successfully completed the course of Internal Auditors in 2019 at the Center for Advanced Studies of the Ministry of the Interior of France.
Between 2000 and 2019, Patrícia Gaspar was awarded with different distinctions and medals.
